Evaluation and Reflection

One of the things I can reflect on that I did this week is Vox pops, it was a very interesting experience, and you have to think very carefully about what you are going to do for the final project. To create vox pops you need time and patience because it takes time to edit it. This gave me new skills for myself and for giving an interview.

Friday 22 March 2024

Something that I did this week was Pecha Kucha's research. This helped me in my project for reflection, because research is good for improving the mind and giving more ideas and inspirations. I learned how to present a whole project only with pictures. I really liked this research, it wasn't hard at all, and it was fun because we only had to find pictures.

Thursday 28 March

Today I presented pechakucha in front of the class. I presented what I will do in my project. I only received good feedback: that I was very clear and spoke loudly for everyone to hear and that I had a good explanation. This helped me to improve a new skill, that of speaking in front of everyone without shame.

Friday   19 April

 This week I analyzed a leaflet. I analyzed the colors, the type of font, and the way it is placed. This helped me improve my ability to analyze something well and helped me in my project to figure out if I wanted to make a leaflet or not. Everything went well with this leaflet and it was really helpful.

This week I did secondary research for my project. I wanted to look at several models of magazines, the colors, type font, etc., and magazine publishers. This helped me see what techniques they use to make a successful magazine and what layout you need to put in place to make it as good as possible. I got inspired from there, and now I will show my development step by step.

Monday  29 April 

This is my progress so far, this week I finished analyzing similar magazines that relate to my project. I will also analyze posters to advertise the magazine. So far I feel confident about my progress, I will start doing my photoshoot soon. My thoughts now are to finish the analysis for the poster to start and finish the photoshoot and to be able to start assembling the final magazine.

EVALUATIOM FINAL MAJOR PROJECT

MAGAZINE PLUS POSTER

This is my final magazine. I created this magazine on Adobe InDesign. To be able to do this I had to do research, I did primary through Vox Pops and secondary. After I was satisfied I needed my original images, I had a photoshoot and I chose some good black and white and colour images.      After I had everything I needed, I started assembling my magazine by creating the cover, and the other pages. On the cover, as you can see, I made a layout so that the writing was in the back and my picture was over it. Writing, I wanted it to be about deep thoughts and the past. I wanted to have lighter colours to attract people and look good. I used capitals letters and a simple type front to be easy to read, and I chose it to be a larger size. And the background has a pink to orange gradient.

We move on to pages two and three, I chose to use the title to be capitals letters and to be in black, and I went on the white background, to be something simple and the writing to be pink. As you can see, I wanted to emphasize the subtitles and put them in black, and some quotes in pink. I created the content, I mean the writing, I thought to put past mistakes, lesson learned, etc., to create something for the world to understand. To put the pictures I helped free transform to bring them to the size I want. On these two pages I wanted to focus more on writing than on pictures so I added more writing. At the bottom we have the page numbers.

Last pages three and four, I was more focused on that picture in the middle of the page, I wanted to put it in the centre of attention because it represents how I am now and how it reflects me in my past. I put up encouraging quotes and put subheadings in order to know where to start reading. The writing was also quite large because that makes me think it's more attractive. And the content on columns is written in capital letters. The last thing is advertising the poster, I created it on Photoshop using a pink background because more target audience is girls. For this I used a picture of myself cropping her background using the mask, so that only my face remains. I added quotes, and a larger writing to show that it's about relationships, and I also used an eye-catching slogan good write, good life. For that circle I used the circle shape and made a pink and for the rays of sunshine around it I used The Line Tool. And inside the circle I used the pen tool to do the writing around the circle and I also added a bird because its colours match there and give a good vibe of peace and quiet. I don't know how I feel about this project but I have a few mistakes in it, I feel disappointed because I think I needed to do more research on what I need to add on both ,  magazine and poster. First of all, I didn't know that the writing had to be lower cases, and I added with capital cases, the second mistake I noticed it's like at the bottom of the page, I forgot to change from 'MAG NAME' to add the names of my magazine. I think I was in a bit of a hurry to do it and I didn't have time management and I didn't plan properly. I expected the magazine to turn out more colourful and with more details but I didn't manage to do so, I feel like something is missing from it, and about the poster, I had to add more details about the magazine as if it were, when it is valid and when it is published, I did not add enough details.

For now I think it looks pretty decent. Everything was easy, the hardest part was when to add the writing because I thought a lot about what it needs to be about. Surely if I were to make this magazine again I would take better measures and give good time to create a good one, I would have added more details to the magazine, some shapes, more images, and the way the writing is posed.
